Someone has to do it. Live in Bali, surf daily, drive scooters around town, get chased by monkeys, and work with local craftspeople to make awesome and unique furniture out of the highly desirable wood: Indo Teak.

Meet my good friend Adam. Adam has been living this Bali dream life for the last 4 years as he developed his furniture brand Hati Home. Adam started Hati Home (heart in Indonesian), a furniture brand, to empower the local craft community by making quality furniture in Indonesia. Adam utilizes select, talented local craftsmen who excel in using A-grade Indonesian teak, grown locally.

In 2019 I paid my friend Adam a visit in Bali/Indonesia. We went all over and, indeed, I too rode scooters, surfed and got chased by monkeys. We visited the local craftsmen and women. Meeting the artisans that make these furniture pieces were so inspiring to me, as a woodworker. To see how creative and capable they are with the limited, sometimes self-made tools that they have was jaw-dropping. These makers are so talented, and we are proud to work with the community on Java that is producing our chairs.

The crafting community here is the farm to table equivalent in the niche of teak furniture making. The teak trees grow in their backyard and they have kilns on-site to dry the lumber (heated efficiently by their wood scraps, of course). They have small shops in town that do individual specific tasks to complete each chair. It is a tight-knit local community fully committed to this work. The production process involves multiple different small shops to produce our chairs. The weaving process of the synthetic paper cord on the wood frames takes hours and is hypnotic and cathartic to watch.

I am so proud and excited to announce that Adam and I are working together on several projects as Sean Woolsey Studio for Hati Home. We are introducing our collaboration with a lounge chair that is suitable for indoor or outdoor. This lounge chair comes in several different weaves + material options all on a sustainably harvested A-grade teak frame. The seats and backs are of synthetic paper cord that is weather-resistant and artistically, handwoven.

Our first chair, the Bali Afternoon Lounge Chair is $800 per chair or $1400 per pair. They are being produced right now and will arrive in California in early May.

Now for the exciting news: introductory pricing special of $1,120 per pair, or $640 individually.
